Thankin' You Kindly

Dude, I am worn out. 51 shows, and 73 nights on the road.... Of course that's not why. It's because I stayed up last night watching Cops, The Planets Funniest Animals and Xtreme Eliminations until I went catatonic. But we are reaching the end of the second longest tour we've ever done, and there are things some things I'm going to miss about life on the road. So before we pack it up and head on home, and in keeping with the spirit of the season, I'd like to present you all with my top ten list of things I'm thankful for about life on the road:

10. No dish washing. Unless you count licking the Krispy Kreme bag.

9. When the key card at the hotel makes a futuristic "bleep bleep" sound as it unlocks the door.

8. Interesting regional foods like cheese curds, pasties, and Southern Peanut Butter Soup.

7. Two words: Crocodile. Hunter.

6. The free, uninhibited feeling of noticing that the drain in the shower is getting clogged and realizing you don't have to do a thing about it.

5. Beef jerky---why do I never eat it at home?

4. Missing your exit and not being able to do a U-turn for 15 miles. Wait, no... I HATE THAT.

3. Free soap, baby.

2. Hangin' with super-fans like Ryan, Tex and Lindi.

And the number one thing that I am so very thankful for this Thanksgiving about the life Jodi and I get to live on the road is.....

1. I sing. I get paid. 'Nuff said.
